Arne Miller is employed at Risø National Laboratory, Roskilde, Denmark, since 1969. He is the manager of Risø High Dose Reference Laboratory, an accredited laboratory for calibration and measurements for the radiation processing industry. Arne Miller is editor-in-chief for Radiation Physics and Chemistry (Elsevier/Pergamon), and in 1997 he was given the IMRP science and technology award at the 10th International Meeting on Radiation Processing in Anaheim, California. He is the author and co-author of several articles concerning dosimetry for radiation processing.

Dosimetry intercomparisons have been carried out involving two thirds of all European radiation sterilization facilities. Dosimeters for the intercomparisons were supplied by two accredited calibration laboratories. The results show good agreement, and indicate overall dosimetry accuracy of the order of  ± 5% (1 s ) for both Co-60 and electron beam plants.
