Biography

Mr. Golfetto started two years ago his activity with the Stevanato Group, taking the responsibility of the Research and Development Department of the Glass Division. Within the position, Mr. Golfetto manages all the product design, testing and development activities starting from the initial Customer requirements to the final industrial product validation, with the coordination of many experts in glass technology, process engineers and CAD engineers. The Team headed by Mr. Golfetto is also responsible for the engineering support and assistance related to the solution of technical or process issues at Customer’s side.

Formerly Mr. Golfetto was the R&D Manager of the Cooking Appliances Engineering Team within a well known worldwide manufacturer of household appliances located in Italy. During the latest three years in this position, he moved in the Company’s plants located in Guangdong area, China, with the additional responsibility of the local Technical Teams in two different production locations, coordinating the harmonization activities related to product design and process development.

As Member of the European Electro-technical Commission until 2005, Mr. Golfetto contributed in the development of European Norms an Regulations focused on users safety and environmental friendly consumer products.


 

Abstract

Glass containers are the primary packaging of choice for drugs and vaccines in the U.S. and European pharmaceutical markets. Quality requirements for primary packaging are steadily increasing.

The partnership with the supplier of the primary packaging plays a central role for the pharmaceutical company to ensure high quality levels.SPAMI, the engineering division of Stevanato Group, is a world leading manufacturer of high-end glass converting machines and equipments for the production of superior glass containers for pharmaceutical use. Within a long-term project agreement with a supplier of high quality pharmaceutical products located in Japan, SPAMI designed and developed a fully renovated glass syringes manufacturing equipment with implementation of highly efficient devices and innovative solutions.

The paper describes the main project steps and the successful cooperation between the SPAMI expertise and the local structure, especially during the commissioning and process fine tuning operations.
