Abstract

The supply of counterfeit medicines and medical devices is a growing problem worldwide. The World Health Organization estimates that up to 1% of medicines available in the developed world are likely to be counterfeit. This figure rises to 10% globally, although in some developing countries they estimate one third of medicines are counterfeit. This presentation explores how serialisation can meet the new challenges presenting themselves to the Life Sciences Manufacturing industry.

  • Exploring the key issues in keeping your products safe from counterfeiting
  • Understanding the creation of unique serialisation codes for individual products during the production process
  • Managing secure high speed printing and verification of these codes
  • Having complete confidence in the subsequent efficient storage and retrieval of any of these millions of codes at any point within the lifecycle of a product and beyond
