Abstract We all know that fake products are a growing problem in the pharmaceutical industry, but also in the medical device industry. WHO and other sources have each year new figures, which over time shows that the industry need to consider how to protect against counterfeiters. The problem has been and is still very high in Asia, Africa and parts of South America, but is also a decreasing in USA, Canada and Europe. The increased use of the Internet has given the criminals even more possibilities to sell fake products. It is very interesting to see the huge number of features, which today is on the market. You can use hours to judge which of the features you can chose to protect your products. Afterwards the criminals will use even more time to find the features to be able to supply their fake products without a risk to be exposed. Using a good strategy, a number of different features, overt, covert and maybe forensic, you can make a packaging, which the criminals will not be able to make alike. We all know that hackers try to come into our computers and we use password to secure against this. We also know that a thief will try to copy your key or make one on his own, to go into your house. With this in mind the presentation will give some examples on the thoughts you need to have, before you make a plan for the security.
